Sazerac
rye whiskey, simple, Peychaud's bitters, absinthe
strong, balanced flavor
It's an old, booze forward cocktail, but the absinthe adds a herbal balance that makes it quite tasty.
Ingredients
2 oz Rye whiskey
2 barspoons Simple syrup
2 dashes Peychaud's bitters
Absinthe rinse
Garnish: Lemon zest
Instructions
Stir all the ingredients, except the absinthe in a mixing glass with ice. Spray a fine mist of absinthe or rinse a chilled rocks glass with a small amount of absinthe to coat. Strain the drink into the glass and garnish with a small zest of lemon.
